The mountain marathon race starts at Nøstmo. From here, the trail goes 7 km up to Litjkjølhaugen mountain, where it meets the MMC ultra trail. After two more mountain tops, the trail goes down to the aid station at Angeltjønna cabin. Then three more mountains must be climbed, before the descent to the finish at Teveltunet.

The 42K has quickly become the most popular event in the MMC portfolio. Despite going over six mountain tops above 1000 masl, the effort required to complete the race is within reasonable limits for most runners and hikers.
