Equipment Requirements
The mandatory equipment is meant both for your own and other’s safety
All participants must carry a backpack and all mandatory equipment. The races are semi-autonomous, meaning that the runners have to carry enough food and drink to last them between aid stations and throughout the race. They also need to carry warm clothes and be prepared in case they need to spend an extended period of time in the mountains.
A mobile phone, and proper battery capacity, is mandatory. It gets dark around 11 PM, and a head lamp is mandatory for races longer than 42K.
Please make yourself familiar with requirements relevant to your race distance. Make sure to read the general sections (valid for several or all distances), as well as those specific to your race distance. Race regulations may be adjusted from year to year, so make sure you are up to date on the latest version.

The runners will get notification about any changes to the mandatory equipment list at least 24 hours before the race.
MMC has a ‘safety first’ policy and do not want to see any participant in peril due to lack of proper clothing and equipment. Remember, an item unused is better than an item that is missing when you really need it!
