Common regulations valid for all distances (8K and upwards)
MMC does not currently conduct gear checks at bib pick-up or before race start but rely on the runners’ discretion and random controls. Runners who fail to follow the rules, including gear requirements, will be subject to reactions such as time penalty or disqualification.
It is the runner’s responsibility that their gear and clothes are suitable for inclement weather in the mountains. However, during an equipment check, the race marshal’s opinion shall prevail: The runner will not be allowed to continue if the race marshal judges the equipment insufficient in any way.
Runners who choose to use hiking poles, must carry them for the entire duration of the race. It is forbidden to start without poles and get them during the race. No poles are allowed in drop bags.
Note: The runner must be reachable by phone at their specified number at any time 24 hours before, during and for 24 hours after the race.
