The MMC Trails
Each race has its own race description - available under Distances in the main menu. You should also check out the information page for Checkpoints and Stages. If you want a more detailed description of each stage, including distances, elevation, where to find aid stations etc., you can download tables in excel or pdf format from our download area. Look for files with "POI" (point-of-interest) in the file name.
The trail for all distances up to 100 km is located north of the E14. From 2024, the 100 miles distance will include areas south of E14 as well.
The picture below shows the MMC trail for the 100K distance - the longest distance as of 2023. It starts in Meråker (1) and follows mainly asphalt and gravel mountain roads and nice trails for 30 km to Sulåmo (2), via the mountain hut at Litjfunnsjøvollen.
The races from 21K and up follow the same trail - the MMC trail - with one small deviation: The 42K has its own trail from the start at Sulåmo (2) and connects with the MMC trail at Litjkjølhaugen (4).
From Sulåmo, the trail follows along the lake Feren to Guddingsvika (3). Guddingsvika is the start for the 70K distance for the last time in 2023, and also has some services for the 100K runners. From Guddingsvika the MMC trail goes up to the 1035 masl top of Hermansnasa, and from there continues over another eight mountain tops above 1000 masl to Teveltunet (6).
The 42K starts at Sulåmoen (2), goes 7 km up to Litjkjølhaugen (4), and follows the MMC trail from there. The 21K starts at Angeltjønnhytta (5) and follows the MMC trail to Teveltunet (6). Angeltjønnhytta (5) is also an important aid station for the 42K, 70K and 100K distances.
The elevation profile below covers the same 100K distance as the colored trail on the map above.
